The Kensington crown worked entirely in pink sapphire, pavé set across the sculpted points.
Full-colour pavé is harder to bring off than white. Diamonds hide small variations behind their own brilliance. Coloured stones don't, so every stone across a curved surface has to be matched for tone before it is set. A single outlier reads immediately.
