Maison Raksha Journal · Issue One

In 2018, Amber Park came to us wanting a gift for her close friend. Two letters. Nothing more.

A two-letter initial ring held in the hand

The friend was Sabrina Carpenter, and the two letters were her initials. It was a small commission by any measure — a personal piece, made for one person, with no expectation that anyone outside her circle would ever see it.

She has barely taken it off since. It has appeared on album covers, on red carpets, and on stages around the world, usually without comment, usually as the only piece she is wearing. That is how a private gift became the most recognizable thing we have ever made.

Three rings

The first: 14k white gold, set with white diamonds, with star-set diamonds in the sides of the band where only the wearer sees them.

Two more followed. We made her a second in 2022 and a third in 2024, each a variation on the same two letters.

SOMETHING ABOUT ROCKS

Why two letters work

Most personalized jewelry fails because it asks the letterform to be decoration. Script initials, hearts wrapped around monograms, a name stretched across a band — the letter becomes an excuse for ornament rather than the subject of the piece.

Ours does the opposite. The letters are cut and set as objects in their own right, proportioned so the negative space inside each character reads as clearly as the metal around it. That is the whole design. There is nothing else on the band to look at, which is precisely why it survives being worn every day for eight years.

Two characters is the limit, and that constraint is deliberate. Three letters crowd the finger and force the letterforms narrower than they want to be. Two sit at the scale the hand can carry.

Four metals

If you contact Maison Raksha through their custom form in the menu, you can order the ring in precious metals and color gemstones if you so wish.

FORTNITE, EPIC GAMES

Rendered in Fortnite

On 7 April 2025, Epic Games announced Sabrina Carpenter as the Icon of Fortnite Festival Season 8. Her music, her stage wardrobe and her jewellery were rebuilt inside the game, piece by piece.

Two Outfits carry our work, and Epic credited both by name. The Music Pass Outfit lists jewelry designed by Maison Raksha. The Tour-Ready Outfit, in the line above, names the ring.

The ring they modelled is the one shown below: two letters, cut and set by hand in 2018. In Season 8 it was rebuilt as a digital object and reproduced at a scale no jeweller works at.

Very little jewellery survives that translation. A design that leans on ornament falls apart in polygons. This one holds because the letterforms are the whole idea, legible at any size.

Since then

We have made this ring for people who have never heard of Sabrina Carpenter and for people who found us because of her.

Every one is cut for the letters it carries, which means no two are quite the same object.

On the copies

Search the ring today and you will find thousands of versions of it. Some are honest homages. Many are listed as the Sabrina Carpenter ring by sellers who have never spoken to her, to us, or to anyone involved in making the original.

We are not especially bothered by this. A design that gets copied at that volume is a design that worked. But it is worth saying plainly, once, in our own words: the piece she wears was made here, in 2018, by hand, for her.

If you want that ring, this is where it comes from.
