Emerald is the most fragile of the major coloured stones, and the baguette cut leaves it with long unprotected edges. Channel setting is the right answer to that problem: the walls carry the pressure and the stone sits protected below the metal line, which is what keeps the profile low enough for regular wear.

Colour is matched across the row so the band reads as one continuous green rather than a sequence of separate stones.
